Anthony Robbins is my all time favorite author and motivational speaker. His photos and powerful words are good enough for me start off my day

Things to get better in 2012
Every year that passes by special in some way. And to me 2011 is very satisfactory year. I chose it to be.
For 2012, I see it as a year of getting things better. Year end is a physical demarcation and provides a mental one to all of us. But I believe, we should start anywhere anytime if we truly decided without waiting for the next year to come.
What would I get better at in 2012?
Health: I was telling my friends that everyone plans to fall sick. I feel sad sometimes whether people take conscious steps towards health or not, they take conscious steps towards bad health patterns. What if one day all the doctors tell, we can treat only three times in your lifetime for any kind of ailment? Wont the world be the craziest place where health is sought after, instead of gold?
Language: I recently fell in love with Kannada language for two reasons. The Jyothiyali song from the movie Geetha. And another reason is a "Geetha". Geetha madam, a very senior teacher, whom I met recently in Chikamagalore and she spoke on stage a very beautiful literary Kannada rich in style. By next year, my library will find me filling Kannada books. or you may end up reading my Kannada blog.
Relationships: I know me very well. I got better at relationships in the past ten years. I know my patterns, strengths and limits when it comes to relationships. Relationships are very subtle things; as human being we relate each others in some way. Its part of the survival of the human race. I will still get better at this and be a better person. A quote that I read "Before you heal others, heal yourself".
Wealth: I really have a love-hate relationship with wealth. If wealth were a woman, we like each other, we seek each other but we donot seem to get along :-)
Book: Not of reading but of writing one.
Neuroscience for you and me: After NLP for the past ten years, it was the brain science that became my recent obsession. The book Evolve Your Brain, The Buddha's brain and few other titles, find prominent place in my new bookshelf. I was thinking that I should create something called Neuroscience for Kids and explain the power of Brain to the young generation in a more effective way.
And there are some more! I am sculpting my life, only to get better. The Buddha in me, smiles.

Inverse Paranoid
Today I have learnt this new phrase "Inverse Paranoid" - such a powerful term and much more meaning it has. A paranoid is one who fears that everything is happening for his bad. An Inverse Paranoid is one who believes that "the world is conspiring to make his life good". What an Idea, What a powerful belief this can be.
Some how as we grew, we forgot that our natural state of mind is happiness. But when we are grown, we think we have to do something to be happy. Instead of 'being happy', we keep doing something 'to become happy'.
So, tell yourself that you are an 'inverse paranoid' and have the conviction that everything is happening for your good.

How I handled Yelling!
Last night, there was a guy known to me who screamed over phone losing his temper "You are a fool. You are an idiot". I repeated it until he decided to bang the phone down.
I did not tell my family as they were sleeping. I was literally undisturbed. Thanks to the Optimist Club Creed,
my focus was literally on the solution part. I had 3 choices.
a) To ignore him
b) To write a letter to him that I want to bury the differences
c) Walk into his house to tell that I am not angry at him.
It turned out that yesterday was his wedding anniversary. When I called him, he was taking bath. I wished his wife my message - part (b) and their anniversary wishes. Evening I sent out him a letter.

Dear friend,It’s a coincidence I called you on your wedding anniversary. Belated wedding anniversary wishes to you and your wife.Friend, I am not going to talk anything about what happened yesterday. I am under the influence of certain principles which I am practicing in my life. I have attached the same with this letter. That’s one of the reasons I did not react to yesterday’s incident. I am only responding to you.I called your home this morning to tell that I hold no negative grudges against you and that we can resolve this if we speak out. I thought that would lift your day’s spirit – being a first day of the week. Our kids play together – so, they will certainly learn from what the elders do.I have nothing much to say. Lets bury the differences. Lets revive our good old relationship.Invite me for a coffee this weekend, we will have a friendly chat.
Optimists Club Creed
Tony Robbins referred to Optimists Club Creed in his book Awaken The Giant Within. This was created by Christian D Larson. It reads like this:
I was so impressed that I looked for posters on this subject; and came across the Secret website. They have beautiful posters and lots of content on optimism. A couple of weeks back, I heard some young girls asking for "The Secret" book in Landmark. I did not know that this book is gaining popularity.
I am touched by this text. Its already doing a lot of magic in me. The first statement "To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind" is on top of my mind. Yes, this is built on positive affirmations, but all useful affirmations are available in one place.
I have downloaded the poster from their website and developed 2 photographs of 8 x 10 size. It was an excellent quality.
Promise Yourself-
- To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
- To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
- To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
- To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
- To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
- To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
- To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
- To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
- To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Inspiring Winter Days
I donot recall when was the last time I was through such cold winter days. It does not like a holiday month. The days are too hectic, lots of happenings around.
Last weekend, I met a sincere traffic policeman who shared his mind. He does not take penalizing action when he sees someone violating the rules. Instead, he calls them to the station and advises how violations create problems. Very young, common sense guy, aspiring to get into civil&order section from the routine traffic police job. The reason he said was he would be able to help the poor and illiterate in several disputes. He comes from a very humble family and his father was a primary school teacher. He is one inspiration for this winter.
Tiger Woods, who is still my inspiration - for his calmness and legendary at his skill. Times Now flashed 'More Birdies in Tiger's Woods'. May be that he is a celebrity, his news are getting more publicity including that of his mother in law falling sick.
Times of India has launched Times Crest. I am yet to get a copy of it - will be talking to the newspaper guy to reserve one. Its long time wish that the newspapers like TOI do not have anything to read and digest. Times Crest is a welcome entry and TOI is good at innovating. I wish they do something for the kids and get away with the stale, crap Bangalore Times supplements.
There are close friends whose married lives are under turbulence. These friends are very honest, have their middle class family values, and harmless. They are very technical, hard working and at the sametime live in a closed-friendship-unit. Though its sad the marriage is failing, they are doing a balancing act.
There is another friend whom I met online after a very very long time. She is a scribe and I recall she was very active in amateur dramas those days. She runs an ezine: http://justfemme.in
There is another friend, who lives a very simple life, principle-centric, systematic, even at home.
And many more common man I come across, I only understand that people are living their dreams, they have a purpose to pursue.
And I too have few wisdom moments that flash and go back. I resolved for the new year:
a) I will 'live a book'
b) I will never create fear in anybody
c) I will never procrastinate
and much more personal goals evolving. Tony's Awaken the Giant Within deals a chapter on creating goals. I will use that as a reference guide.
Yes, Winter hurts but....read this quote:
“Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it.” - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
