Kaththi movie review

Watched  Kaththi  1st day 2nd show.
Vijay  double act. He fights for farmers against  cola  companies land grabbing. Very long story telling. Many scenes remind you  of  sura, velayudham, thuppaki  and thalaivaa. Some scenes  are interesting  and some are really testing  patience. Murugadoss  reminds  scenes from  7aam Arivu. Anirudh music is actually  a noise. Vijay is very youthful. Opening  scene is really good and i believed  entire story  will build on it. Murugadoss tends to do another message for society  movie. Samantha  has no role to play. Missing logics in some places. Vijay fans cheered a lot in the theatre.
You can watch  once.

Thanga Meengal

I watched the Thanga Meengal movie in Sun Tv last night. Though I know its a heavy subject movie, I made it a point to watch the movie along with my daughter.
The movie has so much messages to offer. My daughter asked in the beginning why it has been titled so to which I said I would answer at the end. I did.
Nobody has acted in the movie. It has message for the schools,  teachers,  parents and each one of us. Every father who sends quality time with his daughter will understand this movie.
This movie would have won awards but the message of the movie is beyond all that.
Our Kollywood heroes will not dare to act in such movies as there is no gun, vulgarity and item songs.
Special mention to Revita teacher as well who became my favourite too. Glad that the movie ended in a positive note otherwise I would have gone to bed with a heavy heart.

Making of Paradesi.

Paradesi (பரதேசி) is the recent movie by director Bala.  I stumbled upon Youtube to watch the Sun Music exclusive video on the making of this movie. I am stunned. I am going to watch this movie. I am a great fan of Director Bala - read his autobiography இவன் தான் பாலா to know him more.  Here is the embedded video of making of Paradesi.

இந்த மூன்றும் சேர்ந்து மன்மதன் அம்பு ஆனது. த்ரிஷா மாதவன் காதலர்கள். அவர்கள் இடையே ஊடல். மாதவன் கமலை உளவானாக நியமித்து த்ரிஷாவை கண்காணிக்க செய்கிறார். முதல் பாதியிலையே படம் முடிந்து விடுகிறது. காமெடி என்ற பெயரில் அறுவை.

* லாஜிக் இல்லை என்றாலும் பரவாயில்லை. ஒரே நாடகத் தனம்.

* மன்னார், குருப் என்று ஒட்டாத பெயர்கள்

* கழுத்தில் ரத்தம் வராத குறை தான்.



வழக்கம் போல கே எஸ் ரவிக்குமார், ஒரு காட்சியில் தலை காட்டி விடுகிறார். தேவி பிரசாத் தனது பாடலில் பெயரை அறிவித்து கொள்கிறார். கமல் தனக்கு தெரிந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரே படத்தில் சொல்ல துடிக்கிறார். விஜய் டிவியில் வந்த பேட்டிகள் அத்தனை ஈர்ப்பாக இருந்தன. த்ரிஷா, மாதவன் - திறமையுள்ள நடிகர்கள். வீணடித்து விட்டார்கள். சங்கீதா, குருப் கதாபாத்திரங்கள் ஒரு மாதிரி எரிச்சல் உண்டு பண்ணுகின்றன. த்ரிஷா கவிதை படித்து இருக்க வேண்டாம். படம் நெடுக தண்ணி, பாத்ரூம் என்று நகைச்சுவை (!) அம்சங்கள். எந்த அடிப்படையில் ஆனந்த விகடன் 40 மதிப்பெண் கொடுத்ததென்று தெரியவில்லை. நான் 30 மதிப்பெண் கொடுப்பேன்.



இந்த மாதிரி படம் எடுத்தால் அப்புறம் எப்படி திரை அரங்குக்கு வந்து பார்க்க சொல்கிறார்கள்?



படம் முடித்து விட்டு INOX வளாகத்தில் உள்ள "மயிலை மசாலா"-வில் மதிய உணவு முடித்தோம்.

Enthiran Movie

Review

Enthiran movie is a very good entertainer. The one-line story is how a robot meant for constructive purpose can be misused. And what if a robot gets feelings and start thinking?  The real hero is the technology. Shankar has extensively exploited the animation technology. Though anybody could have done the role, Rajni Kant has been too good for his age. He looks fresh and young. Comedy is name sake but more attention could have been paid. Aishwarya too fits the character.



Already a 3-hr movie, its really challenging on what all can fit to satisfy all sorts of audiences.



Music is excellent; but the lyrics are too 'engineering'.



Few glaring errors

• In the first few reels, the spelling of 'neural schema' was misspelt as 'nueral schema'.


• In the fire accident scene, the robot saves the fire victims. The metal robot can withstand heat, but how can a man lifted by the robot can withstand the heat?


• No one would release a robot in public without formal approval. Every researcher knows it.


• A dismantled robot is a E-Waste. No body would dump such an e-waste like a vegetable waste.


• The robot has been too choosy on when it would fly. 


• With his sensors, the robot could have sensed the Vaseegaran Rajni among his army men. 

Its not known how much of writer Sujatha's work has gone into the movie. Some credit could have been given in all the interviews and in the title cards for the late legend.

Flashback & Piracy





Its an open secret, that pirated DVDs are available in all CD shops without exception. Once in a while, SUN TV News show how Rajni kant fans patriotically prevented piracy.  The SUN family may passionately recall how his family men broadcast Mudhalvan movie few years back in Madurai.





The Theatre





My first visit to Jayanagar INOX. No crowd at all. Tickets were easily available only 1/4th of the hall was occupied. We also learnt that it would take another 2 months for the JP Nagar INOX (Bangalore Central) start functioning.

Director Bala

After a very long time, I re-read Director Bala's Ivan dhaan bala autobiography. His childhood days in his village have been so bad that no one would have imagined that he would rise to fame to make movies like Sethu, Pidhamagan, and Naan Kadavul. His story has been beautifully put together and an inspiration for anyone who like to have a second lease of life. His story is all about will-power of a man who has been rejected in his life in several situations. Very inspiring story. But look at Mr.Bala - no body would say that he has the formulated looks of a famous director or an intellectual.
